Taste Hawaii – 5th Year Anniversary

Aloha kakou!  In 2012, Taste Hawaii celebrates its 5th year in business.

Before we started Taste Hawaii, there was no other company, or website, referring to itself as “Taste Hawaii.”

We started as a gift basket company in 2007 selling edible Hawaii goodies, for example – Hawaii coffees, teas, chocolates and travel to conscientious travelers to Hawaii.

Our primary mission is to educate travelers to Hawaii about Hawaiian culture, food and the efforts of Native Hawaiians and kama`aina to sustain a community that now imports 85% of its food.

Known for surfing and the luau, Hawaii should also be known for the community practices of Native Hawaiians who started the Hawaii regional food movement 1500 years ago.

Native Hawaiian farmers are the original organic farmers of Hawaii.

Using the technology of that era, Native Hawaiians were able to feed as many as 1 million people.

Today Native Hawaiians own 152,000 acres of farm land in Hawaii.

More information about the history of Hawaii can be found here:

Taste Hawaii seeks to bridge the gaps between community, culture and business.

Without culture, there is no community and without community, there is no business.

The Taste Hawaii experience can be your cup of kava.

We specialize in food, farm and cultural group travel tours – contact us: (866) 613-4438.
